Not ours ;) but a couple we are friends with. Roxy met this couple on a pilgrimage to France a year and a half ago. This couple has been married for seven years and had not been able to conceive. During those years of struggle they visited many doctors, he underwent painful surgery, and they almost adopted a child. The surgery was unsuccessful and the adoption unexpectedly fell through and they were faced with the prospect of having to undergo another painful surgery.
They had to explain to doctors and nurses why in-vitro fertilization and artificial insemination was not an option for them. A nurse even told our friend that “she must not really want to be a mother” if she refused in-vitro. Throughout all of this, they remained in constant prayer and trusting in God.
A few months ago, the couple went to a healing mass in San Antonio celebrated by a Peruvian priest with a gift of healing. After the mass they chased him down and he agreed to pray over them. After blessing them, he told them they would conceive more than once.
Within a few weeks, they were with child!
Of course the doctors couldn’t explain it, and there will surely be many conversions due to this miracle.
The couple told us the story after mass a couple of Sundays ago and I still get a knot in my throat just thinking about it.
